While employed as a field botanist, I am also interested in community ecology, wetland and grassland ecosystems, and restoration and concomitant questions of plant community assembly, legacy effects, and invasion resistance, as well as impacts of current anthropogenic actions on our natural environments. Research focal areas have included: wetland plant ecology, restoration ecology, and paleoecology within the framework of assembly following restoration disturbance and alternative/multiple stable state theory.
Current foci:
Flora of Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arkansas
Carex of Gulf Coastal Plain & Mississippi Alluvial Valley
Cyperaceae of Gulf Coastal Plain & Mississippi Alluvial Valley
Botanical Survey of Vicksburg National Cemetery (NPS)
